70s Vintage Custom-Made ERDL Camo Flight Suit - Large
A custom-tailored set of hunting coveralls, made by Kamo, a well-known and prolific commercial clothing brand that made a wide variety of camouflage garments throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The suit is made entirely with surplus USGI ripstop ERDL fabric and has been professionally modified to resemble a flight suit.
It has many features, similar to those of the US-issue CWU-36/P, including several zippered pockets, a small pocket on the left arm with pen slots, a full-length zip front closure, elasticated velcro-adjustable waist, zip-adjustable ankle cuffs, and a survival kit pouch (made with an original salvaged one from a CWU flight suit) on the left leg. Under the collar, there is a section of a label from an ERDL TCU coat with a 1969 contract date, although it is unclear why this was attached. A superb, and likely one-of-a-kind piece.
